Information on the measures taken by the EU Member States to promote gender equality (Belgium)
Information on the measures taken by the EU Member States to promote gender equality (Ireland)
The objective of the project was to provide EIGE with information on measures taken by EU national and regional governments to promote gender equality, using the reference period 2005-2012. As part of the project, Milieu prepared a country report on Belgium.
To carry out the task, Milieu identified policy measures to promote gender equality at work; equal pay; fairer representation of women and men in positions of power; gender equality in education; promotion of women and men’s equal ability to use/allocate time to participate in the economic, social and private spheres; gender equality in accessing health; as well as policy measures aimed at the prevention of violence against women.
By completing this task, Milieu contributed to supporting the analysis of the results obtained by the Gender Equality Index (GEI), a tool created by EIGE to measure gender equality across Member States.
