Olivia Aouati is a Belgian lawyer who joined Milieu in January 2022. She graduated cum laude from a trilingual Bachelor’s degree in Law from Université Saint-Louis and a bilingual Master’s degree in Law from KU Leuven. She also holds a Master’s degree in Public International Law from Utrecht University. Throughout her academic journey, Olivia specialised in the protection of human rights. Prior to her role at Milieu, she completed a traineeship at the European Commission, Directorate General SANTE. During her time there, she focused on updating existing legislation to align it with the goals of the European Green Deal while ensuring the protection of farmers’ human rights. This experience allowed her to develop strong analytical skills and gain expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research.
Since joining Milieu, Olivia has been involved in numerous compliance assessment projects. Additionally, she has acquired managerial and coordinating competencies while working on various projects for different Directorates General, with a primary focus on DG JUST and DG ENV.
