Andrea Pazos is a Peruvian national who joined Milieu in March 2024. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology from Científica del Sur University (Peru) and a Master’s degree in Marine Science and Management through a joint interuniversity program in Belgium (Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Universiteit Gent, and Universiteit Antwerpen). During her academic career, Ms Pazos conducted research on the effectiveness of two Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), assessing their ecological, social, and governance dimensions from the perspectives of key stakeholders.

Before joining Milieu, Andrea completed a two-month traineeship at the Institut de Ciències del Mar (Barcelona) and worked as a Researcher at a marine conservation NGO in Peru. In this role, she contributed to projects focused on small-scale artisanal fisheries, conservation management, stakeholder engagement, and scientific communication. Andrea’s other areas of interest include the science-policy interface, social equity, and marine, climate, and biodiversity governance.

At Milieu, Ms Pazos primarily supports environmental policy projects, with a focus on the Marine Strategy Framework Directive. She is fluent in Spanish and English and has basic proficiency in Dutch.
