Michael Ernst is an Austrian national who joined Milieu as a Legal Trainee in March 2024. He holds a Master’s degree in law from the Faculty of Law of Vienna. Michael is specialised in labour law, criminal law, as well as digitalisation. After his time in a Viennese law firm, he worked as a judicial law clerk for the Austrian judiciary, for the prosecution, a district court and a regional court. Michael later did a traineeship at the European Commission for the Directorate-General Justice and Consumers (in the unit on Criminal Procedural Law), working on the European Arrest Warrant and the then ongoing negotiations of the now approved regulation on transfer of proceedings.

Michael’s native language is German and he speaks fluent English and intermediate French.
