Ela Omersa is a Slovenian lawyer who joined Milieu in November 2019. Ela holds a degree in law from the University of Ljubljana and an LLM in EU law from the Utrecht University. During her master’s studies, Ela mostly focused on human rights law and topic of harmonization and implementation of EU law

Fabio is a French national who joined Milieu in March 2024. He holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights and EU Law from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (France), as well as an LLM in International and EU Law from a joint programme between the University of Nottingham (UK) and the University of Nantes (France).

Fernando Beamud Carrillo is a Spanish national, working as a legal trainee at Milieu since September 2023. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the Law Faculty of Complutense University of Madrid. He also holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Law and Sustainable Development from the Law Faculty of Complutense University of Madrid and a Master’s degree in Environmental Law from the Law Faculty of Uppsala University, University of Eastern Finland and UiT The Arctic University of Norway.

Filipa Homem is a Portuguese national, working at Milieu as an Advisor. Ms Homem joined our team in May 2022. She holds a law degree, from the Universidade of Lisbon, in Portugal, and a Master’s degree in international human rights law from the same university, having dedicated her master thesis to the relation between the human rights protection system established by the European Convention on Human Rights and the Portuguese fundamental rights protection system, which was later published by Almedina. Ms Homem is a qualified lawyer with over seven years of work experience in legal research and legal writing. Her main areas of expertise include fundamental rights law and civil and criminal justice. Prior to joining Milieu, Ms Homem worked for the Directorate-General of Justice Policy of the Portuguese Ministry of Justice, dealing mostly with EU and international law, and was directly involved in the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU during the first semester of 2021, having co-chaired the Working Party on Fundamental Rights, Citizens Rights and Free Movement of Persons (FREMP). She also worked in law firms in Portugal and was a stagiaire at the European Court of Human Rights. Besides her native Portuguese, Ms Homem also speaks English and Spanish fluently, and has a good command of German and French.

Flore Gustave is a French national who joined Milieu in April 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Rennes I, an LLM in International Law from Cardiff University and a MA in European Studies from the College of Europe.

Fran Gallego Osorio is a Spanish national, working as a policy trainee at Milieu since November 2024. He holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from the Universitat de Valencia and a Master’s degree in Policy Economics from the Erasmus School of Economics. During his academic studies he specialised in performing quantitative and qualitative analysis, particularly in the areas of social economy (cooperativism), social justice, economic development and migration.

Georgia Fili is a Greek national who joined Milieu in October 2024 as a legal trainee. She holds an LLM degree in Environmental Law from the University of Strasbourg and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Athens

Giacomo Saderi is an Italian professional, working as a Business Development Coordinator at Milieu since July 2024, dealing with EU calls and tenders in the following fields: circular economy, energy, environment, financial services, justice and human rights, public health, etc.
He holds a Master’s degree in Languages and Cultures for International Cooperation and a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages, both achieved at University of Milan. At university, he twice won the scholarship for the Erasmus+ exchange programme, first at University of Bristol, UK, and then at Higher School of Economics in Moscow.

Giovanni is an Italian National, working for Milieu since July 2023. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences and International Relations at the Catholic University of Milan, and a Master’s Degree in European and International Public Policy at the London School of Economics. He also holds a second Master’s degree in Economics and Management of Government and International Organizations from Bocconi University. During this study experience, he spent an Erasmus+ Exchange Semester at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, where he worked as a Research Assistant for a project investigating how European cities regulate the platform economy.

Before joining Milieu, he worked as a Parliamentary Assistant Trainee at the Office of the MEP Irene Tinagli, the Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs. During this experience, he deepened his knowledge of the Recovery and Resilience Facility and of the EU Financial Services and Banking regulatory framework. Giovanni speaks Italian and English fluently. He has an intermediate command of French.

Gonçalo Moreira holds a law degree from the Universidade Catolica in Portugal and a LLM in International and European law, specialsing in public international law, from the Universiteit van Amsterdam in the Netherlands. He wrote his master’s thesis on the protection of the environment through human rights law.
