Imbory Thomas is a Tanzanian national who joined Milieu in May 2016. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Water Resources Management specialising in water and waste management.

Inès Carter is a French and British national working as a trainee at Milieu since May 2025. She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Law and Green Transitions from Nantes Université and an LL.M. in International Law from the University of the West of England

Isa Vroom is from the Netherlands and started at Milieu in March 2022. She graduated in Biology from Wageningen University, the Netherlands. Her focus within this is on (marine) ecology and nature conservation. She did a minor in nature conservation policy and Geo-Information Sciences. From 2017-2018, Ms Vroom worked full-time on educational and student politics in the Student Council of Wageningen University. She wrote a master thesis on Marine Protected Areas in the Greater North Sea, and she did an internship with a nature conservation NGO in Brussels where she developed tools for Marine Protected Area managers. In Milieu, she is supporting the team that is working on the MSFD, as well as the CAP. Ms Vroom is fluent in English and Dutch, an independent user of German and a basic user of French.

Juan Pablo Rojas, a Canadian and Colombian national, has been working as a legal analyst at Milieu since June 2025. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and an LL.M. in International and European Law, with a specialisation in human rights, from the Université Catholique de Lille.

Dr Julia Zomignani Barboza is a Brazilian and Italian national, working as legal advisor at Milieu since September 2024.
She holds a PhD in law from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where she specialised in refugee law and human rights, and an LLM in international humanitarian law and human rights from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.

Julie Dorval is a French national who joined Milieu in August 2021. Her specific areas of interest are fundamental rights, justice, citizenship, migration and asylum.

Kayonzo Pommerenke is a German professional, who joined Milieu as a Trainee in April 2025 to strengthen the Business Development Team in coordinating the entire EU tendering process from opportunity identification to proposal submission.

Laura Sznajder is a Polish and German national who started at Milieu as a Legal Trainee in June 2023. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany in German and Polish Law and is currently pursuing an LLM degree in German and Polish law from the same university and a legal master’s degree at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland, as part of a joint programme.

Laura Vona is an Italian qualified lawyer working as an Advisor at Milieu, where she works on tasks related to data collection activities (at EU level and national level for IT, ES, FR, BE), stakeholder consultations and project management. Her specific areas of interest are environmental and climate law and sustainable development. She graduated from the Roma Tre University and the Poitiers University in Law (IT\FR Double-degree). She holds an LLM in European Union Law from the College of Europe, Bruges. Prior to joining Milieu, she worked for nearly two years at the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg as a Lawyer Linguist. Before that, she was a Trainee Lawyer in Italy in order to complete the compulsory 18-months internship to have access to the Italian Bar Exam, passed in November 2021. Besides Italian, her mother tongue, she speaks English and French fluently and has a good level of Spanish. She is currently studying Dutch.

Lina Panahy is an Afghan national and Accountant & H.R. Administrator at Milieu. Lina has a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Administration with a specialisation in Finance from the University of Kardan.
