Andrea Pazos is a Peruvian national who joined Milieu in March 2024. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology from Científica del Sur University (Peru) and a Master’s degree in Marine Science and Management through a joint interuniversity program in Belgium (Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Universiteit Gent, and Universiteit Antwerpen). During her academic career, Ms Pazos conducted research on the effectiveness of two Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), assessing their ecological, social, and governance dimensions from the perspectives of key stakeholders.
Before joining Milieu, Andrea completed a two-month traineeship at the Institut de Ciències del Mar (Barcelona) and worked as a Researcher at a marine conservation NGO in Peru. In this role, she contributed to projects focused on small-scale artisanal fisheries, conservation management, stakeholder engagement, and scientific communication. Andrea’s other areas of interest include the science-policy interface, social equity, and marine, climate, and biodiversity governance.
At Milieu, Ms Pazos primarily supports environmental policy projects, with a focus on the Marine Strategy Framework Directive. She is fluent in Spanish and English and has basic proficiency in Dutch. -
Anaëlle Becker

Anaëlle Becker is a French and Swiss national, working as a Legal Researcher at Milieu since September 2024. She holds a Master’s degree in French and International Law from Sciences Po Paris, as well as an LLM in European Law from the Institute for European Studies of the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
Anaëlle has developed her career in both legal and policy matters. After her time in a French law firm and two NGOs, she became a parliamentary assistant trainee in the European Parliament on migration and asylum matters. She then did a traineeship at the European Commission for the Directorate-General Justice and Consumers (in the unit on General Criminal Law), working on the PIF Directive and the then ongoing negotiations on the environmental crime directive and the directive criminalising the violation of EU sanctions. Before joining Milieu, she worked as a project manager for the Belgian Federal Public Planning Service for Social Integration during the Belgian Presidency of the EU Council.
Anaëlle is proficient in French and English, with a good command of Spanish and an intermediate level in Dutch.
