The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) recently published two studies conducted by Milieu. A report on biodiversity financing available to local and regional authorities (LRAs) explores LRA implementation of the UN Convention on Biodiversity. It summarises the main public and private financing instruments for biodiversity action available to LRAs at EU and international level, including five case studies covering Poland, France, Luxembourg, Italy and Finland. The study also analysed obstacles faced by LRAs when accessing biodiversity finance, identifying recommendations to mitigate them.

A second report on integrated water management and policy coherence in regions and cities investigated LRA perspectives in the context of the recent EU Water Legislation Fitness Check. As part of the study, Milieu water experts also compiled an overview of subnational water management in each Member State (+ the UK).

Both studies support opinions being prepared by CoR.
