Briefing the Parliament on the UN Ocean Conference

Milieu has undertaken the task to Brief the Member of the European Parliament on the upcoming Ocean Conference, taking place under the auspices of the United Nations in Lisbon Portugal from the 27th of June until the 1st of July 2022.

The Conference is the appropriate forum for the EU to re-iterate its commitment towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water and discuss pressing subjects such as plastic pollution, ocean acidification, biodiversity protection, sustainable fishing, and opportunities for the blue economy within and above national jurisdiction. It also constitutes an exceptional opportunity to enhance our scientific understanding of the ocean and to develop multi-stakeholder partnerships across the globe.
