Milieu is honoured to lead a new study on the reception of unaccompanied minor children by EU cities and regions, commissioned by the European Committee of the Regions.
Over the coming months, we will analyse the critical role that cities and regions across the EU play in safeguarding and integrating unaccompanied migrant and refugee children. The study will focus on innovative solutions adopted by local and regional authorities to address the challenges of receiving, protecting, and integrating these vulnerable children within their communities.
In addition to identifying success stories and good practices, the study will shed light on opportunities for improvement. Particular attention will be given to the effective utilisation of EU funding to strengthen these efforts, ensuring that local and regional authorities have the tools they need to provide comprehensive support to unaccompanied children.
This important initiative aims to provide actionable insights for policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders working to enhance social inclusion and community integration for migrant children.
📖 Stay tuned for updates and findings from this study.
