Diana Nacea joined Milieu as a Legal Advisor in June 2025. Romanian-born, she earned her law degree from the Complutense University of Madrid, where she was awarded scholarships for academic excellence and qualified as a Spanish lawyer. She then specialised in European law, completing a master’s degree at the University Carlos III of Madrid and an LL.M. at the University of Amsterdam. She further deepened her expertise through advanced EU law courses at the Diplomatic School and the University of Munich, where she was also introduced to the basic principles of German law.
Diana gained practical experience in European law through a Blue Book traineeship at the Legal Service of the European Commission, followed by legal training in the Cabinets of two Judges at the General Court of the European Union. In these roles, she contributed to legal research and the drafting of procedural documents.
Before joining Milieu, she worked for five and a half years in the compliance department of a private bank in Luxembourg. There, she was responsible for ensuring compliance with EU sanctions, particularly those targeting Russia and Belarus. She also gained substantial experience in anti-money laundering (AML) and financial crime, including drafting reporting memoranda for the Financial Intelligence Unit. In 2025, Diana was admitted to the Luxembourg Bar (List II), following the successful completion of the Cours complémentaires en droit luxembourgeois (CCDL).
Her research interests lie in EU case law, with a particular emphasis on comparative analyses of Member States’ legal systems. She has published articles on EU principles and financial restrictive measures, which have received formal recognition from legal practitioners (i.e., award granted by the Madrid Bar Association, within the European and International Law category).
Diana is bilingual in Romanian and Spanish, and fluent in English and French.
