Milieu Supports the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights in Monitoring the Situation of Displaced Persons in Hungary

Milieu is pleased to support the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) in monitoring the fundamental rights situation of displaced persons and migrants in Hungary.

This work falls under FRA’s expanded role set out in the 2024 EU Pact on Migration and Asylum, which formally assigns the Agency responsibility for:

  • Fundamental rights monitoring

  • Strategic planning

  • Crisis preparedness

As EU asylum, migration, and border policies continue to evolve—and as the Temporary Protection Directive remains in force, currently offering refuge to nearly 4.2 million people fleeing Ukraine—Milieu will deliver monthly reports on developments in Hungary, with a particular focus on the rights of displaced persons from Ukraine.

We are proud to support FRA’s evidence-based mandate and to help ensure that the rights of migrants and asylum seekers are upheld across EU policy responses.
