Milieu Consulting is pleased to announce the publication of the Environmental Investigation Agency’s (EIA) report, “Implementation of the Methane Abatement Partnership Roadmap”, to which Milieu contributed technical and analytical expertise.
The report examines how methane abatement partnerships can be operationalised in practice ahead of the implementation of the EU Methane Regulation. It includes a detailed analysis of implementation models, key stakeholders, financial and legal considerations, and the factors shaping cooperation between partner countries.
A central component of the study is the set of three bilateral case analyses, covering partnerships between Germany and Angola, Italy and Azerbaijan, and Spain and Algeria. These cases offer practical insights into the opportunities and challenges involved in reducing methane emissions within international energy relationships.
By identifying enabling conditions, investment needs and potential barriers, the report supports ongoing efforts to advance methane abatement, strengthen regulatory compliance and contribute to wider climate and energy transition objectives.
