Milieu contributes to Ex-post Evaluation of Cohesion Policy 2014–2020

The European Commission has published the full set of reports for the Ex-post Evaluation of Cohesion Policy 2014–2020, including Work Package 7 on climate and environment, to which Milieu Consulting contributed.

Work Package 7 assesses how the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Cohesion Fund (CF) supported EU climate and environmental objectives during the 2014–2020 programming period. The evaluation provides insights into progress achieved across key sectors such as energy efficiency, biodiversity, climate adaptation, and clean transport, while also identifying barriers that affected implementation and results at national and regional level.

The report highlights lessons learned and sets out strategic recommendations aimed at strengthening the contribution of cohesion policy to the European Green Deal in future programming periods. These findings are designed to inform policymakers, support improved investment planning, and help ensure that cohesion funding continues to play a meaningful role in driving Europe’s green transition.
