Carolina Agostini is an Italian national, working as a trainee at Milieu since October 2025. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Politics: Philosophy and Economics from LUISS University, as well as a Joint Master’s degree in EU Trade and Climate Diplomacy from LUISS University and the CIFE Institute. She specialises in international and EU marine law and policy, marine renewable energy and deep-sea mining, as well as the interactions between trade and sustainability.
Prior to this traineeship, she collaborated with Milieu as an external expert while completing her studies. She previously undertook an internship with a non-profit organisation dedicated to marine and coastal defence, after developing a strong interest in ocean politics during her Erasmus at the University of Copenhagen.
In June 2025, she participated in the UN Scientific Congress and the Third UN Ocean Conference in Nice, where she gained valuable insights into marine diplomacy and conservation.
During her studies, she was an active member both of her university’s Political Science association and of the non-profit Legambiente Treviso, contributing journal articles on geopolitics and environmental sustainability. She also took part in three seminars of the Young European Federalist Movement in Austria, Ventotene and Berlin, deepening her understanding of the European Union and federalism.
Driven by these interdisciplinary experiences, she strongly believes in the importance of bridging scientific findings with policy solutions to address global environmental challenges. She is fluent in Italian and English, and has an intermediate level of French.
