Phong Róbert Pham Nam is a Hungarian national and Policy Trainee based in Brussels. Mr Pham Nam specialises in applied economic analysis for EU policy, drawing on recent work as a Blue Book Trainee in the Chief Economist Team at DG GROW, where he worked across trade, industrial policy and investment topics, combining quantitative research with practical policy support. He previously worked as a Research Assistant at KU Leuven, working on topics related to women’s labour force participation in India, and earlier held graduate analyst roles at Citibank in regulatory reporting and product control, strengthening his data quality and reporting discipline.
He holds an MSc in Advanced Studies in Economics (Magna Cum Laude) and an MSc in Economics (Magna Cum Laude) from KU Leuven, and a BSc in Economics and Business from the University of Amsterdam. Methodologically, Mr Pham Nam is proficient in using advanced econometrics and quantitative methods in various programming languages (R, Stata, MATLAB). He has advanced proficiency in English and is a native speaker of Hungarian.
