Milieu to support the European Commission on the upgrading of EU company law to adapt it to the digital age

In November 2021, The European Commission’s Directorate-General Justice and Consumers mandated Milieu to undertake a study on “Disclosure and cross-border use of company data, and digital developments related to company law’. The main objective of the study is to gather and assess legal, technical and economic data, and stakeholder feedback related to disclosure of company data, to cross-border use of company data and to digital developments related to company law.

This study is part of the on-going initiative of the European Commission to adapt the existing EU company law procedures to the digital age. This initiative aims, in particular, to increase the availability and accessibility of information about companies at the EU level and to lift barriers to the use of this information on a cross-border basis.
