On 30 September 2026, the five-year Horizon project ZeroPM (Zero Pollution of Persistent and Mobile Substances) came to an end. Milieu was pleased to be part of a consortium of 15 entities, most of which are research institutes and universities.
Over these five years, Milieu’s team worked to create bridges between science and policy through two main activities. The first was a monthly regulatory watch following policy developments relevant to the prevention and remediation of Persistent, Mobile and Toxic (PMT) and very Persistent and very Mobile (vPvM) substances. The second was the development of policy briefs translating the project’s results into recommendations for policy makers.
As part of the regulatory watch, Milieu released monthly newsletters (Doi, Doi, Zenodo and Doi) and maintained a database of policy initiatives. A recap of over four years of regulatory watch is also available.
The ZeroPM policy briefs reflect the diversity of the work carried out in the project. They address multiple topics, from hazard assessment to data generation, emission reduction and remediation.
The project’s results can be consulted on the ZeroPM website and on Zenodo.
