The website for the Sustainability Impact Assessment (SIA) supporting the EU–Thailand Free Trade Agreement negotiations is now live. The platform brings together key information on the assessment process, upcoming milestones and opportunities for stakeholder engagement.
The draft Inception Report has also been published. It sets out the scope, methodology and initial analytical approach for assessing the potential economic, social, environmental and human rights impacts of a future EU–Thailand free trade agreement.
In parallel, the Open Public Consultation (OPC) is now open. Citizens, organisations and stakeholders from the European Union, Thailand and beyond are invited to share their views and contribute to the assessment process. The consultation will remain open until 27 April 2026.
In addition to the general OPC, a dedicated Business Survey has also been launched. The survey is specifically designed to gather input from companies — including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) — operating in or trading between the EU and Thailand. Business feedback is essential to understanding sector-specific opportunities, challenges and the potential impacts of the future FTA. The Business Survey is open for 12 weeks, closing on 8 May 2026.
Both consultations are available in English, Thai and all EU languages.
(Please note that versions in EU languages other than English are machine translated)
