Maximillian Kemp is a British and French national who has been working for Milieu as an Analyst since February 2019. He holds a double degree in English and French Law from the University of Essex in partnership with Université Paris X Nanterre, as well as an LLM in International and European Law from Ghent University.

Maximillian has a specific interest in public health, environmental and good governance issues. His main areas of expertise include EU transport and air quality legislation, which he acquired while writing his thesis on the legal aspects of the Dieselgate scandal, as well as in subsequent traineeships for the Dieselgate inquiry committee in the European Parliament, and the clean air team at ClientEarth. While at ClientEarth, he also gained experience on the Aarhus Convention and access to justice in environmental matters more generally while contributing to the writing of a handbook on this subject. Prior to joining Milieu, Maximillian worked on issues of systemic maladministration for the European Ombudsman and, following that, on the Commission’s conflict of interest policies at OLAF.
