Iván Martínez Bris is a Spanish national who works for Milieu Ltd as a legal researcher. He is a Spanish lawyer specialised in International and EU law by the Universities of Murcia in Spain and Lille 2 in France. Iván has three years of experience in different international organisations and firms in the area of public policy and law. Prior to joining Milieu, he worked for the Research Service of the European Parliament where he dealt with MEP’s requests and contributed to the elaboration of publications on different EU policies. The main topics in which he worked included constitutional and institutional issues, possible evolutions of the European Union, withdrawal from the EU, better law-making, rules of procedure and civil liberties.

Iván also worked for the World Bank and the Embassy of Spain, in Washington, tracking policies of the International Financial Institutions based in the city, providing advice to companies regarding public procurement of development projects and organising meetings and events with public officials and sector specialists. He produced several papers explaining the main strategies and investment trends of these institutions on the sectors of water and energy and prepared the profiles of climate change-related projects for the Niger Basin Authority. In 2014, he worked for the law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London in a large investigation about the global financial market and collaborated with the NGO, Centre for Armed Violence Reduction.
