Veronica is an Italian national, working as legal advisor at Milieu since January 2019. She holds a Master’s degree from the Law Faculty of the University of Trieste. She wrote her thesis on the assistance to victims of crime and reform perspectives in Italy based on international standards.
Following her degree, Veronica worked as a trainee lawyer in a law firm in Italy focusing on Italian criminal and civil law and subsequently moved to Brussels, where she undertook studies on the European Area of Criminal Justice at the Institut d'études européennes.
As Blue Book Trainee at the European Commission in the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), Veronica contributed to the assessment of NGOs applying to become signatory of the 2014 Framework Partnership Agreement and to the revision of the Humanitarian Procurement Charter. Prior to joining Milieu, Veronica worked as EU Legal Compliance Officer at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for nearly 5 years. In this role, Veronica was mainly involved in the negotiation of Framework Agreements between IOM and the EU and in ensuring compliance with EU requirements at project development and implementation stage in the context of EU-funded projects implemented by IOM.
