Alexandra Schneiders is a Dutch lawyer who joined Milieu in September 2016 as a Legal Researcher. Prior to joining the in-house team, she collaborated as a Dutch legal expert on a Milieu-led study for the European Commission regarding judicial access in environmental cases.
Her interests lie in the fields of environmental, energy and financial law, having developed expertise on these subjects while previously working as a public affairs consultant in Brussels on issues ranging from shale gas to environmentally-friendly technologies and virtual currencies. Her ability to resolve complex legal issues, by making use of her fluency in four languages, has set her apart during previous work experiences at an NGO, a law firm and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Alexandra has a background in both European law and politics, holding an LLB from the University of Amsterdam and an MA in European Interdisciplinary Studies from the College of Europe. In 2016, she went on to complete an LLM in European Law at the University of Amsterdam, for which she wrote a roundly-praised thesis on the regulation of the virtual currency ‘Bitcoin’ at the European Union-level.
