TEN-T core network projects
Study on permitting and facilitating the preparation of TEN-T core network projects in particular waterborne projects and cross-border projects (2015-2016)
Client: DG Mobility and Transport
The overall objective of this study was to identify good practices and ways to simplify permitting procedures for transport projects that form core network projects under the EU’s transport Trans-European Network (TEN-T) policy. As part of this study, Milieu and its partners:
- Mapped and evaluated existing permitting procedures for major transport projects and identify and analyse obstacles faced by transport infrastructure projects.
- Carried-out an in-depth examination of the particular issues in permitting procedures that apply to waterborne transport and cross-border projects.
- Made recommendations on good practices for streamlining permitting procedures.
In carrying out this study, Milieu held stakeholder consultation meetings, identified and assessed policy options, contributed to a public consultation process, and delivered guidance documents for policy-makers.
