Marine Policy Advisor
Helene Hoffmann is a German national who joined Milieu in September 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography from the University of Southampton, and a MSc in Marine Resource Development and Protection from Heriot Watt University Edinburgh, where she specialised in sustainable marine resource use, environmental management and policy.
Helene previously worked for Milieu as a Policy intern in 2015, where she contributed to the assessment of monitoring programmes reported by EU Member States under the Marine Strategy Framework Directive. Since then, Helene completed an internship at the Caribbean Environment Programme of the United Nations in Kingston, Jamaica, where her work focused on intergovernmental marine conservation projects in the Wider Caribbean Region. She was also a Trainee at the European Commission Joint Research Centre in Ispra, Italy, where she worked for the Marine Strategy Framework Directive Competence Centre.
As a Marine Policy Advisor at Milieu, Helene supports projects related to the Marine Strategy Framework Directive and other environmental issues.
