Conformity Checking
Since 2003, Milieu has supported a number of Directorate-Generals of the European Commission in their task to ensure that Directives are fully and correctly transposed in the Member States. We take this work very seriously, in view of its importance to the European Commission in its role as guardian of the Treaty. We strive for excellence in all of our outputs, and are continuously seeking for ways to improve the conformity studies that are prepared directly by us or under our close guidance.

For our conformity checking projects, we typically assemble a team comprising the best of the national legal experts and companies with whom we have worked on previous conformity checking projects. Their deep familiarity with the methods we have developed for conformity checking offers a level of assurance of high quality work that few other companies can match. Our detailed methodological tools ensure maximum uniformity and comparability of analysis over all 27 Member States. These include tables of correspondence, guidelines on how to carry out conformity checking, and templates for the national conformity studies.
To date, Milieu has successfully carried out conformity checking studies for several Directorate-Generals of the European Commission as highlighted below.
