Angelica Lucia Marino
Angelica is a Swedish and Italian national, working as a Senior Economist at Milieu since September 2016. She has eight years of research and project management experience in the field of climate change and energy policy, eco-innovation, policy and programme design and financial instruments. She holds a Master's degree from the International Institute of Industrial Environmental Economics at Lund University and has a BA in Economics from the University of St. Gallen as well as a degree in Sustainable Social Development from the Stockholm Resilience Centre at Stockholm University. Angelica has also worked in a number of countries across Europe in the public and private sector.
Ms. Marino's main experience lies in climate finance and eco-innovation for which she has conducted a number of studies for DG CLIMA, DG ENV, DG ENER, and DG RTD. Many of these studies involved the design of innovative financial instruments such as: first-of-its-kind demonstration projects in the field of energy (DG RTD), an instrument fostering cleantech investments (DG CLIMA), innovative instruments for financing resource efficiency (DG ENV), and options to use financial instruments through LIFE Climate Action Sub-Programme (DG CLIMA). Angelica also has significant experience in programme evaluation and assessments such as her work in the evaluation of the ECO-Innovation Initiative which included a thorough assessment of project impacts, comprehensive stakeholder consultations, and site visits (EASME).
Prior to joining Milieu, Angelica has worked in the Policy Analysis Unit at the Swedish Energy Agency, with the Public Policy Consultancy firm ICF Consulting International, at the European Commission's Directorate-General Joint Research Centre, Institute for Energy and Transport, and in a number of other positions relating to carbon financing and clean technology start-up investments.
