Senior Policy Advisor
Yoline joined Milieu in December 2013 as a Policy Advisor, specialising in Public Health. At Milieu she coordinates European projects, framework contracts and studies in a range of public health areas, including occupational health and safety, environmental health, infectious diseases and chemicals. Other policy areas included in her portfolio are health research as well as social inclusion and chronic diseases – particularly regarding the prevention of obesity.
Prior to Milieu, she worked for five years at EuroHealthNet, a European network of public health and health promotion agencies where she managed various EU-wide programmes focusing on health and social inequalities, regional development, improving HIV/AIDS prevention in Europe, fair employment and social protection. She was also involved in a wide range of policy activities, particularly those concerning EU Regional Policy and the application of EU Structural Funds.
Yoline has extensive experience in organising international events and is a regular speaker at EU conferences and expert meetings. She has a strong interest in partnerships functions and is specialised in developing targeted advocacy, media and communication strategies for a wide range of stakeholders across sectors.
Yoline holds a Masters’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at Leiden University, the Netherlands, and has a degree in Communications and New Media. She completed an eHealth communications and research study at the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and worked at the Headquarters of the World Health Organisation in Geneva, Switzerland, for a few months, where she conducted a study on disease outbreaks and the capacities of countries to detect, assess, notify and respond to public health threats.
