Sarah De Heer
Sarah is a Dutch national, who joined Milieu as a Legal Trainee in June 2016.
She holds an LL.B. European Law School and an LL.M. International and European Law, both from Radboud University Nijmegen. Although her degree focused on European law, she has gained considerable knowledge of Dutch law as well. During her Bachelor’s degree, Sarah took part in the Interdisciplinary Honours Programme, where she co-wrote a report on the constraints and opportunities for sustainable development in New Orleans and along the Mississippi river. Sarah also competed in the European Law Moot Court, where she reached the Regional Finals. She completed her education in the Netherlands and spent a year abroad in Sweden where she wrote papers comparing the Dutch and Swedish legal systems.
As Sarah is interested in knowing the practical hurdles in the field of free movement, she did an internship at the Dutch SOLVIT centre. Prior to working at Mileu, she was a trainee at DG CONNECT, where part of her work involved analysing answers to public consultations and reviewing case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union.
